Somersett is northwest Reno’s master-planned golf community, built from the 2000s onward across rolling terrain with big Sierra views, a town-center club, and neighborhoods that range from low-maintenance homes to large customs. The Del Webb Sierra Canyon section inside Somersett serves buyers fifty-five and over with its own amenity core.

The financing detail buyers miss: many Somersett addresses carry a master association plus a sub-association, and both dues belong in the qualifying math from day one. New phases still release here, so builder end-loans and extended locks during construction come up often, and wind and hillside exposure make the insurance quote worth pulling early.

Commute reality: the community sits off Somersett Parkway above the Mogul grade, about fifteen to twenty minutes from downtown Reno and quick onto Interstate 80 westbound. Lot sizes range from compact low-maintenance parcels near the town center to half-acre-plus custom sites on the ridges, and the wind that keeps the views clear also earns a mention in every honest conversation about the hill.

Per 2026 northern Nevada MLS reporting, Somersett generally runs from the mid 600,000s past one million for larger customs, with list medians in the low 700,000s this spring. Conventional, jumbo, and new-construction paths all see regular use here.

Somersett is young by Reno standards.
